Dark Music

Why does music seem louder at night
among the darkness and the stars?
It should complete the Zen of night time,
add to the dreams you are embarking,
and just blend.
Yet it heightens your senses
and outs your stresses.
You feel more alone,
more vulnerable.
Why is the dark so loud?
Does the dark increase volume
to remind you that
even in your darkest moments
you are still alive?
Maybe I should shut it off.
